Prairie Adaptation Research Collaborative (PARC)

Two postdoctoral positions are available at the Prairie Adaptation Research Collaborative (PARC), University of Regina (Canada). PARC is a research center focused on climate change science, impacts and adaptation in western Canada. Funding is available for research on the variability and reliability of industrial water supplies in the Prairies region. We have an immediate need for 2 postdocs to contribute to our research on the paleo and projected hydroclimate of western Canada. Funding for one of the postdoctoral positions is from the Queen Elizabeth II scholarship (QEII-AS) program. Recipients of this funding must be from a low to middle income country.

The ideal candidates for both postdoctoral positions will have:

  • A recent PhD in earth or atmospheric sciences or environmental engineering
  • Experience with the statistical (time series and spectral) analysis of climate data
  • Ability to work independently
  • Matlab or R programming experience
  • Familiarity with regional climate models, earth system models and land surface schemes
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team

Salary: 40,000 CAD per year plus benefits
