Two M.Sc. Positions
New Collaborative Project on Integrated Human-Natural Systems in Ontario Agricultural Headwaters
University of Windsor

The Land and Waters Lab invites applications for two M.Sc. positions to participate in an exciting new collaborative research project to study how climate, land use, and agricultural land management in Southern Ontario have changed over decadal timescales, and the resultant effects on water quality of headwater sentinel streams. The students will have access to unique information about agricultural land management and headwater stream dynamics across the Province. The research approach will require a combination of spatial analysis, agronomic and economic data analysis, and hydrological and biogeochemical simulation modelling. A fieldwork component would be valuable, but is not required. Students are expected to integrate their own ideas into their work.

The positions are fully funded, and will involve working in collaboration with scientists at the Great Lakes Institute of Environmental Research (GLIER) and government scientists at the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change. Applicants should have some specialization in physical or human geography, agricultural engineering, or a related field.
